Where everyone planted trees.

But the trees are gone

Replaced by lawns.

Lord help me, won’t you please.

I wanna go back to the creek in the woods

And catch a minnow or two.

But there’s none there today

They all swam away

That’s why I’m singin’ the blues.

I wanna go back to the place that I love

And sit on top of that hill

There once was a day

When the children would play

Lord, help me if you will.

I wanna go back to Acorn Ridge

And ponder long and hard

Of love and life

And finding a wife

But now it’s somebody’s yard.
