Carriage House Productions was formed in 2000 in Denver Colorado by John F. Bergin as a software engineering company committed to developing quality and historically accurate 3D military strategy gaming software. John is the principal technical driving force responsible for developing all of the software products that the company has to offer.

The company's showcase product is Viking Raider, a real-time, 3-dimensional, internet based, military strategy game involving early Viking warriors. Viking Raider represents over 4 years of development and is comprised of over 25,000 lines of code. The complexity of the Viking Raider software approaches that of the Space Based Laser.

As the company and the software evolved, additional products were developed by importing USGS topographic data into the Viking Raider 3D environment. The result was the Virtual Golf Course and Virtual Fredericksburg.

The Virtual Golf Course is custom software which produces a topographically accurate 3D representation of golf courses, ski areas, or any other place where 3D interactive maps are desired.

One of the other places where 3D interactive maps were desired had such special requirements that it warranted its own product, namely Virtual Fredericksburg. Virtual Fredericksburg is a customizable Topographic Information System (TIS), which allows national parks and historic areas to manage their facilities as well as recreate historical events in an interactive 3D environment for exhibits and presentations.
